Welcome and Blog Guidelines

Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to Room 23's Literature Blog. This blog will introduce students to Web 2.0 tools to interact and collaborate in the digital world. To enrich their understanding of literature, we will be using this blog to pose questions and discussions about novels, famous quotes and possibly other curricular areas as the year progresses.

Please use this only for school-related communication. This is not a chat room or a Facebook social networking page. Keep in mind that everything you write here can be seen by your classmates and teacher. Please do not post anything on this blog that you wouldn’t say or write in our classroom. Remember to be respectful when responding to other students' comments.

Parents, please note that I will be moderating all comments. Students will be signing their comments with their first name only.

    The Mouse and the Motorcycle
A good book is The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary.
It was about a mouse and a motorcycle and a boy. Ralph the
Mouse was so fun to read about because he was a hero. One of
My Favorite parts was when the boy and Ralph meet and became
Friends. It was very touching. I would recommend this book
Because it so exciting to read you just don’t want to stop reading
    Or put the book down.

Ranger’s Apprentice is about a rangers spy and he’s an Assassin. It was ten minutes before they herd the screaming. It was an unearthly sound that twisted the stomach into knots of fear and turned the blood cold. Involuntarily they baron and Sir Rodney reined in as they heard it. Their horses plunged wildly against the reins. It came from straight ahead of them and rose and fell, until the air quaked with the horror of it. Good god in heaven! The baron exclaimed. “What is that”? “It’s the kalkara”. Will said. “Their hunting”.

  3. The Popularity Papers

The Popularity Papers is about two girls named Lydia Goldblatt and Julie Graham-Chang. They’re just two NORMAL fifth grade girls but they don’t want to be normal, they want to be two POPULAR fifth grade girls. So they start experimenting about trying to be popular. For one of they’re experiments they try to dye Lydia’s hair so she has a blonde highlight in her hair like a popular girl in they’re school. So they ask Lydia’s sister Melanie because she dyes her hair all the time. Her sister said that all you need is bleach. So they got bleach from under the sink and a pasting brush so they put some bleach on the brush and it turned white, so they put some on Lydia’s hair and she felt a burning sensation so they thought it was working then it started hurting her head the her hair fell out and there was a big red bumpy bald spot on her head. I think that others might enjoy this book because it’s really funny and odd.

  4. A Wrinkle in Time
A wrinkle in time is a good book because it has lots of action! The story is about two
Children named, Meg and Charles. They don’t know who or where their father is. They
Saw him when Meg was just a baby. One day after school Charles took their dog
Fortinbras on a walk. All of a sudden a squirrel popped out of a tree! Fortinbras just took
Off running! Charles started running after him. Finely he came to a creepy house. Inside
They met Mrs . Who Mrs. Which and Mrs. Whisket. They found out that they want to help them find their dad. And they go on a huge adventure! And that’s why I recommend this book.

  5. The book my group and I read is Frindle. My favorite character is Nick Allen. I like Nick because he is funny and has great ideas. He is similar to me because he gets good ideas, and I get good ideas. When Nick grows up I think he will be a sports player. JC123.

  7. No, I do not think the Russians entered the harbor knowing that they would steal otter and murder the villagers. I think this because they gave Kirana's father one chest containing only a few beads. Karana's father was not pleased because it was not enough and that is how they started the war.

  8. I think Karana will stay stranded longer because of the wild dogs that are left. But maybe her situation will change because on the cover of Mrs. McConnell book one of the wild dogs with with her,so maybe not.
