  3. 3. I liked the stations where you looked in the mud and water, because you get to see some amazing creatures that live in the wetlands too that you couldn't notice if you were just hiking.

  4. 3. I liked the mud center best because we got to pick through the mud to find bugs and other creatures. I love bugs, that is why I liked this center most. The mud had came from the slough at Don Edwards.

  5. 3. The center I liked the best is when you had to look in the mud and find living creatures because you got to find really small things that you won’t think will be that size.

  6. I liked the mud station the best because you did not know what you were going to find. All of the creatures you would find had big long names, but I could not remember any. I found two worm-like creatures and they looked really cool on the big microscope. These things were very exciting to watch move around. Some couldn’t even stop moving. I also loved the pickle weed’s salty flavor!

  8. The best center I though was the one where we got to dig in mud to find insects. I have 3 reasons that I like the mud center:
#1 I like to dig in the mud
#2 I think that the insects were cool
#3I liked to look at the interesting bugs through the telescope

  9. I am answering number 2. I can help the wetlands by not dumping bad chemicals down the sewer drains. This will help protect salty and his family from going extinct. I can help even more by painting over the sewer drain signs to remind people that it goes into the bay like we saw in the short movie before we went home. Please help protect the wetlands so the animals don't go extinct.

I could start using Eco-friendly bags, and cut the plastic that hold a six pack soda or juice because it might gets around an animal's neck or body part. I should not use the electric for light when the sun light is available to use. I should turn off the light when the room is not in use. Don't drive when I can walk or ride my bike and don't litter because they pollute the earth. Do all that we can to keep the earth clean and stay green.

  12. Today we went on a field trip to the Wetlands in Alviso. My favorite activity was searching for bugs and other critters in the mud. I found insects and rocks. I was hoping to find a crab but was not successful. But I had fun anyway.

I learned that we should protect the wetlands because it is home to many animals and is an important part of our environment. (Even if it does smell funny!)

I think the most interesting part was the hike because I saw a lot of nature. For example one time my group and I saw a baby bunny rolling around on the ground. I also saw two ducks diving for food. Th brass button flowers were pretty cool but they took up the pick weeds space.

  16. I can save the wetlands by, recycleing, picking up trash, not littering, not pouring any dangerous liquids, saving water, helping animals, using recyclable bags, rebuilding animals habitats, saving as much electricity as I can, reusing as much as I can, and playing outside more! Remember, be green!

    Peace,

  17. You can help the wetlands by not dumping stuff down the drainage pipe. You can also try to restore their habitat by planting plants for endangered animals to eat and take hurt birds and animals to someone who can care for them. Weeding can also help native plants to grow back if their habitat is taken over by weeds.

My favorite center was Mrs.Wisdoms center. It was my favorite one because I liked going on the hike and learning about all the plants. I also liked seeing the California's state flower the Golden Poppy because that is one of the things I'm doing for my California history project.

  20. We can help the wetlands by not polluting. We can put signs saying: NO POLLUTING. Don’t spray pesticides at the wetlands; it could kill a lot of the plants and animals. Try not to put bad stuff down the storage drains. If you want to build a house, don’t build it on the wetlands. It will take up a lot of our wildlife.

  21. I really liked the water lab station when I got to find water boat bugs that raced around the glass. I also found a shrimp. This was a fun day learning about the salt marsh and all the cool animals and birds that live in this special ecosystem.
